Sprinkles of Life Birthday Card

I really love the versatility of the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and love that it is the Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set.  It pairs perfectly with the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Pack for making birthday cards.  Have you tried stamping on the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper?  Just make sure you have one of the darker hues and it works great!  Here, I used Watermelon Wonder, Hello Honey and Island Indigo.  I also took a few of the sequins off the Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim and placed them on the cupcake tops with a small rhinestone in the center.

Circle of Spring & Bordering Blooms

I thought that these two sets worked so well together!  We are coming up on wedding season so I thought it would be a good time to begin making some wedding cards.  Have you had trouble lining up the center section of the Wondrous Wreath dies and your stamped image?  I was having that problem and recently discovered that Stampin' Up! recommends that you cut the center first, then stamp and finally cut the outside.  Huh, never would have thought of that!  I embossed the flower wreath, sentiment and border on the inside of the card using the Silver embossing powder which is such a cool color.  I am going to miss the Striped Vanilla ribbon but I still have some so you may see something in the future with it.  I hope you got some when it was available in the 2015 holiday catalog.

Honeycomb Happiness Birthday Card...

I saw this card made by Michelle Reynolds on Splitcoaststampers and thought it would be perfect for a workshop I recently designed for.  I changed up Michelle's card a bit - using a faux folded banner instead of a banner made with a die.  To make a faux banner like this, you just need the Banner punch and a 5/8" strip of paper as long as you want it.  Punch two banners out of the same color card stock as your strip.  Sponge the edges in the same color to give it depth.  Glue the banners to the back of the strip with a little bit exposed at the bottom to give the effect of a fold.  Super easy!

The "Happy Birthday" is from the Remembering Your Birthday stamp set and is a part of one of the stamps.  We just used a marker to ink just the "Happy Birthday".

I embossed the Mint Macaron paper using the Confetti folder and then took some silver Encore ink and lightly brushed the raised portions.  The honeycomb balloon in only attached on one side for mailing.  A little note to the recipient that they can peel off the backing and press down the other side so their balloon stays open is all you need to provide them.  Finally, the little clouds?  They are the cupcake top from the Cupcake Builder punch and punched out of Post-It notes to create masks for sponging the background.
